As the campus continues to develop its renowned reputation for food and beverage, the move will see the new leadership team managing food and drink at the venue, whilst continuing to promote the SEC, which has become a bustling destination for domestic and international guests who enjoy some of the country’s biggest conventions, concerts and exhibitions.
Jamie will be responsible for the overall food and beverage strategy, joining with over 18 years in catering establishments in the UK, including Heritage Portfolio and Centerplate, as well as working in five-star event and retail hospitality in Scotland and around the world. Jamie has worked across operations and business management which has shaped his holistic approach to development, design and operational aspects of bespoke hospitality offerings.
New executive chef, Matthew joins from the Asian Indoor Games in Turkmenistan and has been in professional kitchens for over 25 years, having cooked in cities around the world from London, Sydney, Dubai, Addis Ababa and now Glasgow. With a strong passion for French and British cuisines, Matthew has been influenced by styles inspired from Asian and Indian cooking. As well as owning his own AA Rosette restaurant, Wild Flour, Matthew has most recently worked in five-star hotels in Scotland and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
The SEC is Scotland’s largest event Campus and home to The SSE Hydro, one of the busiest entertainment venues in the world.

Innovation, business development and people are a strong element of both Matthew and Jamie’s backgrounds which we’ll be keen to share and develop in the months and years to come.”
