Moët & Chandon Dining Experience set to wow at The July Festival in Newmarket

Celebrating a relationship that goes back 110 years, the Moët & Chandon Dining Experience is returning to Newmarket Racecourse for a second year.

The collaboration between Jockey Club Catering, Newmarket Racecourse and Moët & Chandon pairs fine dining and horseracing, will this year have a culinary focus around delicious vegetarian dishes. Jockey Club Catering Head Chef at Newmarket Racecourse, Damian Adams, said: “When creating this year’s menu we were inspired by seasonal produce and the abundance of fresh local fruit and vegetables available to us.”

Each dish from the five-course menu has been paired with a different champagne, bringing to life the flavours with subtly balanced notes that enhance the food. During the experience, a Moët & Chandon sommelier will bring the collaboration to life and talk diners through how each dish and champagne has been hand selected to complement one another.

Damian Adams continues: “We’ve created a delicious pea and mint Ravioli, which will be served with a tasty champagne cream, fresh summer peas, a dash of lemon and shaved parmesan. We have paired this with a Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008, which has a longer time in the cellars, to develop more intense flavours and a fuller body and stands well with this dish. The vegetable dishes reveal the versatility of the champagne and make a great pairing.”

The Moët & Chandon Dining Experience returns to the eponymous Moët & Chandon July Festival this week from Thursday, 12th to Saturday 14th July, with the package available to 90 people each day.

The Moët & Chandon July Festival is one of the highlights of the summer racing season. Racegoers are not only treated to world-class racing, including arguably the best sprint race in Europe on the Saturday, the Darley July Cup, but also a fabulous summer party atmosphere with Thursday celebrating Newmarket’s annual Ladies Day followed by Feel Good Friday.  

The relationship between Moët & Chandon and The Jockey Club dates back to 1908 when Moët & Chandon’s British agent, Alfred Simon, won two races at Epsom Downs Racecourse on his horses: “Moët” and “Chandon”. To celebrate his victory, he bought Champagne for the whole racecourse.
