Salisbury Cathedral (1220-1258), Britain’s finest early English gothic cathedral and instantly recognisable by Britain’s tallest spire, is known for its beautiful architecture and award-winning welcome. For over 750 years pilgrims and visitors have come here to seek inspiration in the glory and peace of the building and surrounding Cathedral Close. Nowadays it welcomes 250,000 visitors annually to discover its history with expert guides, take a tower tour, see Magna Carta 1215, or simply explore the cathedral by themselves.

The cathedral’s Refectory Restaurant offers a selection of homemade cakes and pastries throughout the day, Fairtrade coffee, fresh leaf tea, homemade soup and hot lunches, afternoon tea - and plenty more besides.

Opened in April 2000, this unique glass-roofed area provides a wonderful space in which to relax, meet up with friends and enjoy food and drink, with views of the spire soaring 123m (404 ft) above you.

Families with young children are always welcome and there’s a special “Explorer bag” selection menu for younger children.

The Restaurant also makes a stunning venue for private functions, corporate hospitality, wedding receptions, dinners and presentations. Together with the Chapter House it is available for private bookings in the evenings only

Katie Sporle from Salisbury Cathedral comments, "We are delighted to have recently extended our term for a further six years with Jonathan Davidson and his team. As part of our extension agreement, an investment has been made into our refectory and the results have been incredible. Delivered on time, to budget and with an incredibly positive response from our customers, we are confident we have a fantastic platform on which to continue to develop the business in partnership over the next six years."
